Cindy is a Clinical Psychologist, registered at the HPCSA in the capacity of Independent Practice. She obtained her Masters in Psychology degree during 2008 through the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus. During this she conducted research examining correlations between the preventative factors of eating disorder and it’s predictors, as required for a thesis. She completed her internship at 1 Military Hospital, and worked for an additional 2 years within the military system. Here she gained a wide range of experience by working with clients of all ages and within diverse settings and spectrum of problems.

Cindy believes that each individual possesses immense capacity to overcome life’s difficulties and foster personal growth.  Thus she works holistically and in conjunction with other health care professionals to ensure that each client receives the best possible treatment. She approaches each client as an unique case as she acknowledges that no two people are the same and therefore no ”one size fits all” approach to therapy exists. She therefore adopts a wide array of therapeutic techniques to optimally benefit each client.

Cindy works with a wide variety of difficulties; ranging from everyday/social problems to a broad spectrum of clinical or mental health disorders which impact negatively on the individual’s psychological well-being.  She provides assessment and therapeutic services on both short or long term basis.

Assessment services are available to children, adolescents or adults and may be utilised for various purposes. Cindy has special interest in academic assessments to determine the origin of concentration difficulties (ADHD and ADD); as well as assessments to determine academic ability; subject or career choices; school readiness assessments; and forensic assessments.

Therapy is available for clients from the age of 12 upwards and may address numerous problems. Cindy has special interest in the following: bereavement/ grief; depression; anxiety; traumatic life experiences; self-esteem and self-worth; couples counselling; pre-marital counselling; stress and burnout; conflict management; behavioural concerns; and OCD.

Finally Cindy is also proficient in presentations; workshops; soft-skill development and team building exercises.
